Cross Keys Barn Wedding | Staunton Wedding Photographer

I first met Kaitlyn and Jacob for their engagement session on a beautiful spring day. We had a great time exploring our location in the golden sun.  I quickly learned that Kaitlyn and Jacob are fun, laid back, and not very good at making "serious" faces. Fast forward to their wedding day at Cross Keys Barn. It was very clear how much these two not only loved each other but how much they loved their families! This wedding was one of the most emotional weddings I've attended as a photographer. I will admit to tearing up more than once.

It began on a warm late summer day at Cross Keys Barn. The bridal suite was spacious and had beautiful light. Kaitlyn, the moms, and bridesmaids were all quiet and calm as they finished getting ready. Kaitlyn prepared for her first look and watched as the outdoor ceremony was set up.

After the first look the couple returned to the bridal and groom's suite to receive letters from each other and have a few minutes alone before the ceremony. This was another emotional moment that this couple allowed myself and others to share with them. The anticipation and depth of the approaching ceremony is such a special time. Their outdoor ceremony was beautiful with a floral arbor and gorgeous mountain view. The aisle was lined with baby breath and guests had wedding programs that were fans. There were several hugs and even more tears during their ceremony and it was so beautiful.

The wedding party was such a fun group. They had a few ideas for their wedding party portraits, but mostly were just up for anything. We had to combat the bright sun which was great for the matching sunglasses they had. You'll see more of those on the guys at the reception.

Their Cross Keys Barn reception was perfectly decorated with personalized touches. The room was filled with images of their relationship and memories of those not able to attend. They had pops of blue on every table. The lights of the barn were so pretty and showed day and night. We snuck out of the barn for sunset and returned to the warm glow of the party still happening inside. Even though it was warm these guests did not stop dancing the entire night, what a fun group!!
